i remember back in 2006 when you mentioned Karl Marx in your sociology class. i developed a new understanding for this revolutionary author/philosopher who influenced socioeconomic change. i am trying to delve back into those lectures and to develop a working knowledge of what marxism is, mainly due to the negative ads tying Obama to Marxism, Communism, and even Che Guevara. Obama's quotes of "spreading the wealth", and making the wealthy pay more taxes seem to anger many republicans I know - including my dad. why would anyone in their right mind be angry if the wealthiest people have to forego a Filet Mignon and Lobster dinner for one night so the poorest people can have a decent meal for a week? those angry republicans will only benefit from these tax breaks - what is wrong with them. many have criticized the Marxist philosophy. i am supposing that they don't realize Marxism is in fact supporting them - the working class. or am I wrong myself?
Wecome to the PROGRESSIVE ALLIANCE. We are a multi-racial, multi-issue "rainbow coalition" dedicated to the struggle for social justice and peace. Our key priorities include economic justice for working families; equal rights and equal opportunities for all of God's children regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation; international solidarity; humanitarian service; eradicating poverty at home and abroad; environmental protection and sustainable development; and electing progressives to public office and then holding them accountable.
Founded in 2005, we have rapidly grown to more than 5,000 members and have emerged as one of the largest and most active grassroots organizations on the West Coast. We are proud to serve as the local affiliate of United for Peace & Justice (UFPJ), the largest peace and justice coalition in the United States with over 1,400 member groups across the nation. Climb aboard the Progressive Alliance today... the freedom & justice train is leaving the station and we'd love to have you on board with us!
